PUBLIC AQUATIC CENTER DESIGN

The city of Smyrna, Georgia was looking to renovate and relocate their aquatic center. I provided the design with the local engineering firm directly contracted by the city. I used Jonquil flower, the official flower of the city, as the design inspiration; the structures are peeling off the ground like the flower petals.
PUBLIC PARK DESIGN

The Reds baseball team in Cincinnati was seeking to propose the conversion of a road into a public park, which would be located next to its stadium. I drew the design inspiration from Ohio river in order to create the flow of the park, and the symbolic trees and their canopies along the way provide resting places and the central entertainment stage.
TOY STORE POPUP DESIGN

Melissa & Doug planned to open its first physical store in New York, which opened in October 2023. I collaborated with graphic designers to design the overall store and bring their story to life within the physical space. For the perimeter fixture design, I drew inspiration from puzzle toys, allowing it to be easily assembled and disassembled, as the project was initially conceived as a pop-up store.
BANK NEW PROTOTPYE CONCEPT DESIGN

Physical banking places have fewer and fewer reasons to exist. I designed a new type of bank where it serves a meaningful role in the community. This is a place where people gather to relax, study, and spend time with fellow community members.
RETAIL DEPARTMENT STORE

The 2nd installment of Bloomie's, a concept store by Bloomingdale's in Chicago, opened in October 2022. I collaborated with the corporate design team to develop the overall store designs, Men's / Women's Ready-To-Wear, Shoes, Jewelry, Sunglasses, and Homes departments as well as custom fixtures.

COLLEGE DINING HALL DESIGN

Sodexo, a food operating company, sought to propose to renovate the dining hall of University of Cincinnati. I designed the new dining hall with following concepts: vertical garden with floating islands, community dining, central salad bar, and canopy within canopy (retail).
BOOKSTORE EXTERIOR RENOVATION

Books-A-Million planned to renovate its flagship store in Maine, focusing particularly on the exterior to create a more impactful presence. I designed the exterior with the concept of a bookshelf and carved-out boxes.
HOTEL LOUNGE DESIGN

Lotte, the Korean multinational corporation, planned to open a luxury hotel in Hanoi, opened in August 2023. I collaborated with the design team on the lounge of the hotel.
LOFT APARMENT DESIGN

Classic Center is a mixed-use development project located in Athens, GA. I designed the residential building above the retail area, named the Lofts. While maintaining the overall industrial look of the rest of the project, I incorporated fine detailing on the brick exterior using a combination of two-tone wood and brick materials, which creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the living quarters.
RETAIL DESIGN FOR HOTEL RESORT

Dollywood planned a new resort in Tennessee, opened in October 2023. I designed its retail locations inside the resort, striking a balance between a clean modern look and the rustic charm of the Smokey mountains.

Dick's Sporting Goods planned to launch new stores under the Public Lands brand, replacing Field & Stream. The first store opened in Massachusetts in October 2022, and I collaborated with the contracted design firm and the corporate design team from concept creation to project delivery.

The Port of Olympia, WA aimed to redevelop road planning. I collaborated with city officials to design and plan, as well as provide visual materials for city hearings.

A local Tide franchisee aimed to propose a standalone express cleaner pod in a grocery parking lot. I designed the pod using recycled PVC tubing and incorporated a small sitting area.

Virtual + Retail FASHION STORE - case study

A case study of combining virtual retail and a physical store. I designed a hypothetical fashion store to showcase how VR, whether from home or a mobile phone in the store, could provide more information and convenience.

Saks Fifth Avenue in Atlanta planned to renovate the Men's floor. I set the concept as "Men's Wardrobe Lounge" and designed the new lounge. It's moody and masculine and yet with sophistication.
